Earls Court officers adventures |
Good Evening,
Apologises for the late update, Pc Hunter and myself are currently still on duty dealing with the arrests we made earlier this afternoon. We were called to an address in Earls Court where there were two individuals who were due to leave an Air B&B but they were refusing. With the owners permission, we have entered, check ID's and passports and they have both been arrested for immigration offences. Upon searching their personal possessions, one of the individuals was found to have class A drugs in their possession so further arrest was made and here we still are. We have been paying attention to the areas that have been reported to police by our residents of drug users on doorsteps. Thanks to the ASB reports having photographs attached, we have identified some of the individuals and we have some exciting paperwork to issue when we bump into them again, which is not going to be long! Yesterday we were all involved in a cycle operation for Kensington High Street. As some of you may know, one of my favourite job is catching cyclists mis-behaving and yesterday I was in my element. For those cyclists who think the rules of the road do not apply and cycle through the red lights, they were given a £50 fine. We caught a car doing this, which resulted in £100 fine and 3 points on their licence. We are still collating how many fines were given but we were extremely busy. This operation took a lot of officers and was tough to put together but with spotters and stoppers in staggered places up both sides of the street, it allowed us to catch them in the act and produce the fines on the street. These have been very hot and uncomfortable shifts but we have managed to get through them with plenty of water and some really good results for the ward.
